I love it when children love the Camera

I love photographing children because they show you who they are. They don't worry about how they look or if their hair is messy. They really show themselves. It truly is amazing. Adults try to force the smile that will look good for the camera; kids show their true selves which you can see in these photos.

This is Tyler. He is so much fun to photograph, and he is so cute. He plays it up for the camera well as you can see.
Thomas is one of my favourite subjects to
capture. He loves being photographed, "David
take a picture of me jumping... falling... running".
This brings me so much joy.

Macey- She is always smiling and playing. She played with the leaves just
because there were leaves.

This is Jamie's boy. Doesn't he make you smile?

Olivia can be kind of a goof ball when the camera is out. It's great to be able
to capture her goofy.

Sam- he loves to pose just like Thomas. These kids are great. They would let me
take their pictures all day long. We make a good team because I could take
their pictures all day.
More posing from Thomas and Olivia in the background trying to get in the
action.
More Tyler wearing a pull up diaper on his head.
What an entertainer.

In conclusion children are awesome!

Old Friends are Great Too!

I have decided to show you some of my old friends since I have talked about new friendships.
I went through old albums and see what I could find of my old friends.

I did not really think of myself of having a lot of friends but looking back on my albums from the last five years I feel really good seeing all the great times I have had. I think I will do a sequel to this post because I have found more pictures of friends that I expected.

OK lets get to the pictures, I know that's why you are all here.

My friend Thomas enjoying some great water from a Nalgene water bottle on a pretty lake. ( When he saw that I was going to take a picture he turned the bottle for a product placement)
This is Kaleena I have helped her dye her hair a few
times. We always have a blast doing it.
Thomas- We created Harvey Dent( Two Face) for his
Halloween costume it was so much fun the one side of
him is burnt to a crisp the other is neat and tidy.

I don't remember how Thomas and I started to hang out but we have become great friends over the years including many adventures all over Alberta. This shot was taken at Hell's Gate Grande Cache.

Emily- Although I call her Elimy for
some reason going back many years she
is my oldest friend. We have know each
other since JR. High.

Jared... I know this picture does not look real but it is he climbed all the
way to the bottom of the Natural Bridge. He has a great sense of adventure.

Thomas also plays the drums. He does not like his picture taken unless he
has something cool to be doing in it. How cool is playing the drums?
Way cool
Sometimes Elimy gets eaten by lions

Kaleena has been my model for the
last year or so, she is very pretty and
likes to be photographed.
Darcy with his girlfriend. She was rough around the edges but they loved
each other.

Ian- We have so many great things in common starting with rock climbing. Before he left on his mission for the Church we would climb very regularly. We both had a good drive and would push each other to our limits and then push more.

Elimy- Best friends 4 life!
Jared has a way with the ladies. He is tall, handsome
he can dance and he is super buff. Not sure if you
can tell but he is spinning Sharlyn and posed for me
right after.

Thomas has been my adventure subject. He is a fantastic skier and likes to play. This shot is at Sunshine in Banff. He is about 15-20 feet in the air off this cliff.
This is my favourite picture of Darcy. He just likes to have a good time.
We have been room mates for 3 years. I have really appreciated him
through those years.

Darcy also likes adventure and doing some crazy things, I am glad I have been there to capture so much of it.
Ian- In this shot he is long boarding in a parking garage. He would take the corners at some high speeds.

I have been blessed with many memories and great friendships.

I would like some feedback on this blog style, where I have a caption on every picture. What do you think of this? Do you feel it flows well? Is there another way that would work better? I am curious what you readers think.
Please leave a comment on the blog or on my Facebook page.

New Friends are the BEST!

I love making new friends. It feels so good to meet people and connect. I went to Toronto for 5 days with Carla to visit her friends Holly and Tyler. A big reason that my our visit was so incredibly awesome was because of these great people. They opened their home to us, shared food and their vehicle. They shared their love of photography, live theatre, live music and FOOD! I am privileged to have met them.

We made many memories like trying on weird toques..

We shot lots of pictures of each other. You can see what Holly and Tyler shot at their blog- http://underourbumbershoot.blogspot.com/

I love being able to share my passion of photography with others. It brings a sense of fulfilment to my soul. I like sharing ideas and concepts with other photographers, creating a community to be able to talk with and shoot with.
I have seen some groups of photographers who keep all their trade secrets to themselves trying to keep their edge in the market but they end up restricting themselves. I personally want to be able to learn from other photographers and to be able to share all my knowledge to help others just starting out.

How about it then? Are you willing to share with others what you have learned, not just in photography but in life to help everyone become better. Only good things can come from this. I am going to make an honest effort to do this. If you have stories that you would like to share about this I would love to hear them.
Well, that was a fun speech. I love photography. I want to share it with others. That is that!!
Good day EH!

It's a Good Old Hockey Game

Good day all  you hockey fans! Part of my trip to Toronto of course included the Hockey Hall of Fame.
This is a very beautiful place, so much history is contained there. I saw an original hockey ticket from an Oilers playoff game the year that the Flames won the Stanley Cup. I loved seeing skates and sticks used by the hockey heros of olden time. If you love hockey this is a place to visit.

You know you have made it when you get on a Shreddies box eh.
Wayne Gretzky one of the greatest hockey players ever, and an incredible Canadian.

It was awesome to see how much memorabilia they had here.

I walked by this picture casually thinking "hey this guy looks familiar' then I check the name... Don Cherry! I don't remember him that young and his suit does not look like drapes.

I don't remember when this game was but it's a super old picture. I am so amazed at the skill of the photographer that shot this. He really knew what he was doing.

The loonie under centre ice. What a great moment in Canadian history. One of the exhibits had the "lucky Loonie" and you could reach your finger in and touch it, maybe getting some good luck, and a dirty finger...

Hope you enjoyed this post, I really enjoyed my visit. These pictures are not stunning or unique in any way but I wanted to share these pictures and experience with my Cruther ( my cousin but really brother) Jared. He is one of the biggest hockey fans I have ever known. We have watched many hockey games cheering on the Flames through good and bad times. I know he will appreciate this blog so I decided to in a small way dedicate it to him and to our shared love of the great sport of hockey!

Who knew Toronto could be so much fun?!?!

Good Day Eh.
I have recently returned home from a fantastic weekend to Toronto Ontario, I have never been that far east in Canada and I must say it is a beautiful part of this great country. This was a weekend full of Insanely great times, I ate some of the best food I have ever tasted, I saw beautiful places, went to an awesome live concert, saw a great musical, and I got to share my Love of photography with some new friends. Looking back on this trip I realize how blessed I was to go and how much fun I actually packed into 5 days.

I will be doing a few posts about this one since we did so much.
Today lets see some of the buildings from Toronto.

We walked around Queen street the first night we got to Toronto and stumbled across this awesome wall mural. There is so much graffiti all over Toronto it adds so much to the beauty of the city.
The Hockey Hall of Fame was one of our stops, it was awesome their was so much memorabilia all throughout the history of this great sport.
This is a shot of the R.O.M. (Royal Ontario Museum) I love museums I could spend hours on hours exploring all the histories that are contained. We went there to see the Terracotta army that was visiting the R.O.M. SO AWESOME!!!! I don't know too much about this building but from what I understand they built a new funky design and expansion from onto the old section of the museum, it looks so funky I really like the style.
This would be the CN Tower it stands 553.33m tall, it is so big, being at the bottom of this building and looking up is humbling. It is also very pretty at night it lights up with all sorts of crazy colours.
I had a truly fantastic time in Toronto, I must admit that I have teased that part of the country a few times, being from Alberta it's sometimes expected but I loved everything that I saw and was able to do in this great city.

Good day eh.

In The Arms Of The Angel

Good Day again, ( two days in a row)

I have a lot of photos that I want to share, that means more blogging.

While in San Diego my Dad and I happened across the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery,
it overlooks the Bay of San Diego, and it is a very beautiful spot.

The lawn was well maintained and in the background you
can see the ocean.
I do not know who this person is, but I sat for a while thinking about who was
and the life he had.

The gravestones go on forever it seemed.

These flowers we left by one of the gravesides, I love to
see that, it shows that the people before us have not been forgotten.

We only spent a little bit of time here but I felt a great spirit on these grounds. I sat on the grass and thought about all the lives that have been sacrificed for freedoms in the U.S.A. and in Canada. Now this is not a World War specific gravesite but the people buried there have served in some way to help me, for my future to keep me free to choose my religion, my occupation where I live and the friends I associate with. It was a very humbling place to visit I am very grateful for all the people who have worked so hard and even given their lives to the betterment of our two countries and the world.

Great Day.

Take Another Ride On The Sunshine HIghway...

I love the cold and the snow and most all things related to winter and it snowed in Edmonton sunday night and monday morning. I was going to go out and make some pictures of the beautiful snow but then I decided to show some warm pictures from my trip to California from this summer. I figured that most people are not as weird as I am and you guys might be missing the warm weather, sunshine and shorts.
Please enjoy the warm photos.
Nothing says warm like a sunny beach( Ocean Beach ) and the warm sun.

Watching these guys Parachute surf was really cool, they would ride the waves and do cool jumps and flips.

Lombard Street- in San Francisco full of flowers and tourists.

I hope that these photos warm you up a little bit from the chilly weather we have just been hit with.

Good Day EH
